Confidence is not ‘They will like me’. Confidence is ‘I’ll be fine if they don’t’. Be Confident

Before addressing how, let’s address the more important issue here, why? Why is confidence important part of success? Let’s say you are in a meeting and your boss is taking everyone’s advice on a certain issue which is very important and you have good knowledge about that issue but as soon as your turn comes up to give your opinion, everything goes black and inside your head everything goes blank, like you have lost your power to think for that second and you end up saying nothing. This is a very common problem and not just limited to a workplace, many students face this similar problem while writing an important exam, as soon as they open there question paper everything goes blank like time has stopped. Another problem which people face is feeling left out of an organization or workplace as if you are invisible to other colleagues. A less confident person has a problem with sharing their opinions or presenting their points and hence soon they become invisible to their organization and especially at workplace they lose on too many opportunities.




Now we have understood why confidence is important, let us see how you can develop confidence. Confidence is not an inherited trait, it is something which is developed over time. Every person has different confidence level, and each person acquires that confidence level depending on their past, upbringing and society. But what’s the best part- you can always increase your confidence level. Let’s see some of the important methods to increase confidence:-

This is the time to stop for a second and analyze your thinking process and your family and friend circle. Analyze what kind thoughts are coming to your mind. Are they negative thoughts? Are those thoughts scaring you to move forward in life or are they making you depressed? Stop! Stop it right there. This is the first thing which you should stop right now. Yes! Stop thinking negative about yourself. Thinking negative makes you feel depress and over a period of time you develop a negative attitude towards anything, relationship or work, a negative attitude will bring you down. Not only negative thoughts but also those people which bring negativity or makes you feel depressed about yourself. Try to stay away from these people.
